Training

3P Ranch trains your horse as if it were one of our own. Our training program is individualized to the horse with regard to how the person will be using the horse. Also, keeping in mind each horse's potential and abilities as well as that of the rider.

All horses are started by first building a solid foundation. We begin with ground work including round pen and ground driving to determine the level each horse is at. This, also, gives us an indication of how quickly the horse learns or what it already knows. We do intense desensitizing sessions and round pen work to establish trust or respect. Each horse progresses as quickly as they can while maintaining the solid foundation on which to build upon.

All of our training includes intensive desensitizing sessions and all horses are taught to control their reactions and trust their rider or handler. The rider or handler is, also, shown how to continue working with the horse to reinforce training, respect and trust.

Horses are worked in both indoor and outdoor settings. We work and ride training horses around other horses and alone. It is important for horses to learn to be independent and build confidence without another horse around. They are taught to stand calmly for grooming, while being saddled or held for the farrier.

3P Ranch works with all ages of horses coming from varying backgrounds. We can start your horse or finish it. We work with horses that need to be retrained, have correction of bad habits or we can tune your horse up. We, also, work with the owners to make sure they know how to not re-create bad habits. Our program has been very successful in working with abused, mistreated or mistrained horses as well as horses going to or coming from racetracks or other disciplines to help them acclimate better to their new environment.
